Joan was a very valued member of Heald Green Theatre Company. She loved researching and sourcing costumes for our plays. It was a pleasure to work with her on ensuring actors were well dressed and that the costumes were within keeping of the era and style of the play. Joan would bring her books and we would look for 'best fit' costumes for the actors. She particularly loved doing period plays and made many costumes for productions like Pride and Prejudice. The theatre has lost the real star of the shows. She is sorely missed. Chris Hall

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are.
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
